Island - Season 1 (2022)
Synopsis:
The drama is based on webcomic “Island’. It’s set on Jeju Island which
is one of the famous Island in Korea. Its involved with evil spirits that they
called as ‘Lust Demon”. One man that stands to fight those demons is called as Van
(Kim Nam Gil). Things getting out of control after Won Mi Ho (Lee Da Hee) sent
to Jeju Island as to repent for her wrong doing in Seoul. She is incredibly
rich and famous, she has her own driver, butler and all.
And what important is that, she
has something that cause all the demons scares of her. This related with her past live. The demons attack
her where ever she goes. So, Van are protecting her from those demons, even though
she knows that Van also has his own dark side. But it leaves her with no other
choices.
Soon after, the Catholic priest
Johan (Cha Eun Woo) also make appearance. His mission is to protect Won Mi Ho from
demons.
Throughout the series you will discover
the secret and all those missing pieces that lead to demon attacks.
My Thought:
Where are you Lee Da Hee’s fans? I
do recommend the drama for you to watch, especially to her fans. She such a
beauty pageant, I like her style and make up especially her hair. She looks
super gorgeous. Her acting is cherry on top, she nailed it. The way she portrayed
that she scares and confuse, you can feel it too. Other actor also did a good
job, however as for me she wins me.
The drama develops by a fantasy
which related with demons, past live, reincarnation and all those standards
believe of Korean people. So, for a logical thinker I might say that the drama
is not for you. Obviously, there are too much of illogical things to explain.
But if you ready just to have fun watch it, it will work.
There are many fight scenes, either
between Van and demons, Van and Johan or Won Mi Ho and demons. The best part is
when Johan release his sword, I like it when those blue flames appear on his
sword because it looks real. Their graphic and demons make up are on another level.
Not to forget the script, I enjoyed it. I could tell that the script writer has
sense of humour because of those script make me attracted to the drama even
more.
Sadly, spoiler alert!! The drama
ending with unsolved situation because they are coming out with season two. I
bet it’s around the corner already. You need to be a little patient to wait for
the next season.
